On International Women’s Day 2022, 1ACross is happy to present “Sherni (The Lioness)”, a special puzzle put together by Qrypt On Y X and me along with 16 extremely talented women from across the globe.
Although people describe the “Lion” as the King of the Jungle, it is actually the unheralded “Lioness” who fends for her family and protects it. This is also true of so many women who often take the back seat and yet do so much for their families.
This grid is dedicated to every such “Sherni” on International Women’s day – As you solve the grid, please take the opportunity to appreciate the contributions of the women in the back seat and let the “Sherni” roar..
Answers can be submitted by anyone who wishes to participate, on or before EOD 19th Mar. 2022. All those who submit entries have a chance to enter our new leader board for 2022.
Annotations for the puzzle will be discussed at 1ACross on Sunday, Mar. 20th, 2022. If you enjoy our puzzles, you would also like our puzzle collections that have been published worldwide.
Read the following instructions carefully There are a couple of three letter words that are part of several solution words. In clues that are marked with an asterisk these have been omitted from the wordplay. See if you can uncover them all.
