SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS There are twelve clues with the term 1/12. 1/12 refers to “one member of a class” and is any one of the following: CANTOR, FREGE, GODEL, HILBERT, MOORE, PEANO, PEIRCE, QUINE, RAMSEY, TARSKI, TURING or VENN. The solver has to figure out which of these 12 belongs to which clue to be able to solve / annotate the clue.
Answer the following questions after solving the grid:
1. Which of the solution words in the grid connects the 12 members?
2. The letters on each numbered cell in the grid combine to make a phrase of the form: 1/12’s ??C??????????S ?H????M? (6,14,8) What is the phrase?
Hints: The above phrase points to something that was seminal in establishing the limits of what was possible and not possible in their subject area. 1/12 above is the member obtained from the clue to 1 down.
3. The puzzle’s title is an anagram of a famous statement in their subject area. What is that statement? THIS ???????? IS ?????
