Stats -We had a spectacular response for  “4D” with 47 unique submissions for the puzzle, thus setting a new record for the highest number of submissions!. Of those who submitted, 40 got the full grid score of 26 while a whopping number – 34 people got the maximum possible score of 28. Here’s the Solution grid.

The puzzle had included special SOLVING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Each Across clue in this grid can be solved only after an additional instruction is applied to the wordplay component.

  2. The instruction that needs to be applied to the clues can be found as the solution to 4D

  3. Each half of the instruction in 4D applies to roughly half of the across clues

  4. All down clues are normal cryptic clues and don’t use the additional instructions

The solution to 4D, was “Take IT or Leave IT”. Hence, solvers were required to either include the letters “IT” or exclude them from the wordplay to arrive at the solutions for the Across clues.

Further, the following questions had been asked at the end of the puzzle..

  1. Which Album by The Rolling Stones features 4D?
  2. Hope is patience with the lamp —-. What three letter word found in three answers in this puzzle can complete that quote

The answers to these were..
