Samit Kallianpur hosted last week and here’s his summary of the results.

Thanks to all for taking part in this contest. Thanks to Sowmya Ramkmar for all the behind-the-scenes help.

We had 22 clues, and 25 people voted. One setter did not vote. Thanks to Ramesh Swaminathan, Loks Subrahmanyam, Samraat Saxena and Manish Jhaveri for voting.

Here are the results…

Honourable mentions for coming in the top 10: Ganesh Raman, Madhusudan H, Venkatesan P, Abhay Phadnis and LowdownCryptic

In 6th place, getting 14 points each, we have a tie between Ashit Hegde’s nice container clue: “Sat around entertaining old ruler of Israel in club”

and Nathan Townshend’s anagram: “Last USA ground attack?”

In 4th place, with 16 points each, we have a tie between a smooth anagram with deletion by Textrous: “Battery variant of a US Tesla leaked energy”
and a simple and nice acrostic by Viraj Divecha: “Charge a slightly smaller amount, unlike last time basically”

In 3rd place, with 22 points, we have Anantakrishnan with a nice homophone clue: “A sailor, I am told, is offensive”

In 2nd place, with 24 points, is Veera Raghavan’s smooth charade: “Ship left empty without gold after a raid”

In 1st place, with 41 points and leading by a huge margin, is doc Satyen Nabar with a typical Dr X clue: “Hit by lust, has a romp when husband’s away”

Congratulations, and over to you doc!

SR: Samit – Thanks for the terrific hosting and motivating more setters to join the fray. Congrats Satyen! Your clue is now in our HALL OF FAME.
