Thanks Eclogue for a cracker of a puzzle. Alphabet jigsaws appear hard at first and then become immensely satisfying as the pieces start falling in place. We had an excellent response for the puzzle and look forward to more from you.
Our next puzzle will be “The Master’s XI” from Aquifer and it will be published on Sunday 11th June.
Here’s what our solvers said..
Name | Comments / Feedback on the puzzle |
---|---|
Lakshmi Prakash | Lovely grid admittedly tough but different and great fun to solve |
Jyothish Balakrishnan | Top class creation to include all the alphabets as start of solutions and also a NINA. |
Mukundala Balasubramanyam | Variety fun grid. Quite enjoyable. |
Rathnakumar V | Outstanding grid, it looked difficult , but fell into piece after 2 main clues, job well done. |
Sparsh Sinha | Great Concept |
Venkatesan P. | First letter of the solution word given as the first letter of the clue worked as an additional hint. Also the two clues with enumeration 11 were of much use in fitting the other solutions. Clues are tricky and enjoyable. |
Veena Venkataraman | Interesting grid |
Venkatraghavan S. | Nice. One clue really had me for a while |
Arvind Kannabiran | fun puzzle. most entertaining. thank you. |
Ian VanderSchee | Enjoyable and challenging! I thought “N” (not “K”) represented “knight”, and the clue for “ONE MAN BANDS” charaded each individual word, which I thought was frowned upon. Otherwise, very nice surface clues and a fun grid to solve. |
Nagendra Prasad R. | Clues for G and U could have been better IMHO. |
sandhya paruchuri | Quite challenging! |
Veera Raghavan | Good challenging puzzle. Still not sure about a couple of entries. Interesting work assembling the jigsaw. |
Prakash Arumugam | Brilliant puzzle. Great feeling after completion |
Avtaar SSv | Excellent puzzle. Great effort in grid creation. A professional job, providing excellent entertainment. Precise wordplay helped identify new words |
Arvind Ramaswamy | Had Super Fun solving some of the clues cold and trying to fit them into the grid and then crack the missing ones. Loved it. Some clues I wasn’t sure if they are legit and some I couldn’t anno. Overall enjoyable puzzle. Thanks for all the Fun. |
Max Jackson | As usual with jigsaws, it was necessary to solve a large majority of clues before any answers could be entered. Fortunately they weren’t too difficult, and once entries start they get easier. |
Ramki Krishnan | Most of the clues were pretty straightforward – got stuck in a few which involved archaic usages. |
Samit Kallianpur | Tough grid to crack, but enjoyable! |
Tejas Siddharth | Enjoyed fitting the words in the grid. Would have enjoyed the puzzle a lot more if not for the ‘not totally necessary’ will, and a def that is arguably not at one of the ends of the clue. For a clue that took so much effort to solve, the end result was not as pleasing. Very interesting puzzle nonetheless. |
Debasmita Basu | Enjoyed the grid. |
Koteswar Rao | GOOD EXERCISE |
Narayanan Rangamani | Super and different |
Lakshmi Vaidyanathan | Nice ! |
Narayana Swamy D | Nice idea of using words starting with all the alphabets and jumbling up the clues without indicating where to place in the grid…… |
Ashit Hegde | Fortunately , I had begun to work on the puzzle quite early, was stuck on the ‘U’ clue for over a week. Otherwise an enjoyable challenge |
Mona Sogal | Interesting concept- |
Rajesh Aerat | New to this concept – liked the interactive version. Well done |
