Solutions:
1 What’s unmentionable about a bachelor as well (5)
TABOO: T(A B)OO
2 Hard to split tax for board (5)
CHESS, C(H)ESS
3 Jean struggling to pick up German game (5)
JENGA, G in JEAN*
4 Terribly boring? Not right – Perfect! (5)
BINGO – BORING*-R
5 Some choose networking game (5)
SENET, Hidden in Plain Sight
6 The Final XWordle
CATAN – CA plus a jumble of T,N and A
After solving the individual clues, these answers needed to be placed in the Grid correctly as below.
The grid had letter hints in the Pink Squares to help slot the answers. For eg, the B indicated, only an answer with B in the 1st position could be in Place 2 (narrrowing down to BINGO). The S indicated CHESS had to be in the 3rd spot while the O indicated that the 4th spot had to be either TABOO or BINGO. Since BINGO can only be in 2, this confirmed TABOO had to be in the 4th slot. Although some solvers had said that SENET and JENGA could be interchangeably entered, this would leave SENET in its original spot – which cannot be correct since none of the solution words are in their correct slots.
So, you had to solve the puzzle like a logic game to arrive at the correct spots for the answers. After doing that, you had to use the letters in Wordle colors, to find the correct answer which was “CATAN”.

rentawagon72 | Nice as always. Easier though. |

Arvind Ramaswamy | Interchanging 1 and 5 actually does not impact the final word but the game just mentions that one way of doing it is wrong. So had to interchange them to actually complete |

Excellent wordplay in all clues except I felt that board needed a def by e.g. ind. which is a shame because it had my favourite surface. Amusing name 🙂 Surfaces in 2, 3 and 5 are stellar. Nice vocab find and great wordplay for SENET Favourite clue: JENGA Good level of difficulty, feel like I only just scraped into the top 11 in terms of my time 🙂
