This is my third #XWordle. Inspired by the viral word game #Wordle, a #XWordle is a combination of a Crossword AND a #Wordle.

The Story

There is pandemonium at the Zoo since the animals have escaped from their cages (marked 1-5). One animal is still in its own cage but the other two pairs have switched places with each other.

Solve each  cryptic clue to find the animals and put them back in their correct cages. You can use the pictures as additional hints.

Then solve for the final XWordle using the Wordle colour scheme.

The Ochre squares indicate the letters in the final XWordle which are in wrong places and the Green squares indicate the letters in the final XWordle in the right places.

Please put the answer to the XWordle in the comments below. Names of those who get it correct will be announced in the solutions post.
